National Care Service Forum 2024: report
This report covers what happened at the National Care Service (NCS) Forum 2024. It includes details of the programme, the speakers and some of the topics people discussed. We held the forum in Glasgow on 7 October 2024.
About the National Care Service
We started work on the National Care Service (NCS) after the Independent Review of Adult Social Care.
The review was clear about the need for change. The Scottish Government accepted the report’s recommendations in full and we remain committed to delivering on them.
Since we started work, we have listened to thousands of people across Scotland who use social care and community health services or are carers. They have told us consistently that things need to change. We are grateful to you all for sharing your time and your views.
People have told us that the government should be held accountable for the social care system in Scotland. Many of you have called on Ministers to lead that much-needed change. You can see some of the work we have done to develop the NCS on the Scottish Government’s website.
