National Care Service: questions and answers - engagement sessions - easy read
In summer 2022, we ran four National Care Service (NCS) Bill engagement sessions. A number of questions were asked during these sessions, so we have produced questions and answers (Q and A) for these. This is an easy read version of these.
Questions about the Social Care and Health record
What is the Social Care and Health record?
This is a new way that some organisations will be allowed to share people's:
- social care information
- health information
The organisations are:
- the National Care Service
- the National Health Service - NHS
- organisations who are giving services
Sharing information means that no one has to keep giving their information to different services.
All services will have access to the same record.
Can I choose that my information is not shared?
This depends on what the final decisions are about the Social Care and Health record.
Everyone has rights about their information.
The record will protect these rights.
