Annex 3: Flash Report Example

Flash reports could be used to highlight request rates for specific tests to GPs. It contains rational behind why the flash report has been sent and suggestions for what the practice could do next. There are also links to any educational guidance and further information. This particular example is for Vitamin B12 testing as there is considerable variation in testing across Scotland. It is suggested that this is discussed at a practice or cluster meeting to try and understand any variation. The report contains a screenshot showing testing request patters at a Health Board level as well as annual requests figures for the previous 3 years.
