National Electrofishing Programme for Scotland

Electrofishing surveys are undertaken to capture and count juvenile fish, primarily in rivers.

Project milestones

June 2019: GRTS sample locations provided to data providers to assess suitability for electrofishing.
July – September 2019. Electrofishing according to MSS protocols, collect water, genetic and scale samples. Enter data into Marine Scotland Science’s FishObs (database) Data Processing Utility (DPU) as time allows.
End of October 2019. All data entry must be complete and samples returned to MSS.
November 2019 – March 2020. MSS to collate data from FishObs database. Carry out data analysis and provide report on findings.
