National events strategy 2024 to 2035: business and regulatory impact assessment

The full business and regulatory impact assessment (BRIA) for the refreshed national events strategy 2024 to 2035.

8. Consumer Assessment

Implementation of the National Events Strategy 2024-2035 has significant potential to impact on the consumer - in this case, the event attendees, event organisers and the wider event supply chain.

However, the published strategy itself is an advisory document. There are a range of organisations with responsibility for key investment, support, and with a critical part to play in supporting the delivery of the refreshed strategy. These are set out at Section 2.3.

Consumer impacts flowing from the strategy have the potential to be wide ranging and with the aim of positive change. They include price, availability, geographical spread, quality of events, accessibility of events and the information available to support them for example around transport.

Any substantive actions as a result of implementation of the refreshed strategy will need to be considered by the lead delivery partner for their own individual Business Regulatory Impact Assessment prior to their further development. This would include a consumer assessment if relevant.
