New National Islands Plan

As required by the Islands (Scotland) Act 2018, the Scottish Government has carried out a comprehensive review of the National Islands Plan.

Following a public consultation carried out last year to inform a review of the National Islands Plan, Scottish Ministers have announced that a new Plan will be published in 2025.

This document – the final route map update under the current Plan – will guide cross-government efforts to ensure the implementation of the 2019 document continues until the new Plan comes into effect.
