Post Assessment Review and sign-off

12. Planning for the review of impact on children’s rights and wellbeing

The potential impacts of the provisions of the Bill on children’s rights and wellbeing will continue to be reviewed through the passage of the Bill as well as in the development of any secondary legislation made under the provisions in the Bill.

The Scottish Biodiversity Strategy vision sets out milestones for 2030 and 2045. Together with the reporting on National Outcomes, the wider monitoring and reporting on the Strategy as part of the Strategic Framework for Biodiversity and reporting in relation to the UK being a signatory to the Global Biodiversity Framework will enable the Scottish Government to demonstrate whether the policies in the Natural Environment Bill are having the intended impacts.

The provisions in the Bill also include a statutory duty for Scottish Ministers` to monitor and report on our progress to meet the statutory nature restoration targets.
