NHSScotland parental leave policy: equality impact assessment
National equality impact assessments were undertaken as part of the policy development process to refresh the extant NHSScotland Partnership Information Network (PIN) workforce policies. This report summarises key findings from the equality impact assessments (EQIA) record prepared for the NHSScotland parental leave policy.

Summary of aims and desired outcomes of Policy
The aim of the policy is to:
- outline the eligibility procedure employees must use to request parental leave
- provide details about employees’ statutory and contractual rights
- confirm parental leave pay arrangements
This is a refresh of the previous Parental Leave Policy within the extant Supporting the Work Life Balance PIN Policy (July 2015).
