Non–binary equality action plan 2023-2028: progress report 2024
The report provides detail on the progress made during 2024, our first year of this five-year plan. It outlines some of our key achievements, and describes what we said we would do, what we have done, and what our next steps are.
Understanding the report
On the following pages we have set out the progress that has been made against the actions within the Plan.
Commitments
The Plan was developed from the agreed and partially agreed recommendations in our response to the Working Group on Non-Binary Equality Report. The numbering of the commitments reflects that of the recommendations.
What we said we would do
This reiterates the actions that we committed to in the Plan.
What we have done so far
This details the progress we have made so far in 2024 towards the actions.
Next steps
This provides detail on how we plan to move forward in 2025.
Timescale
Short-term – to be delivered by the end of 2024
Medium-term – to be delivered by the end of 2026
Long-term – to be delivered by the end of 2028 or an ongoing commitment
Status
Complete – Action has been completed
In progress – Action is underway
Not started – Medium or longer-term actions which have not yet commenced
Over the course of 2024, we identified that the timescales of some actions needed to be adjusted. These adjustments were required as a result of the complexity of the action or the systems in which they were part of; further scoping was required to ensure feasibility; or capacity and resourcing issues.
If the timescale has been adjusted, we have explained the rationale for this change in next steps.
Where short-term actions have not yet been completed, we have provided an update of when we hope to achieve these by in next steps.
Finally, a number of actions have been recorded as complete, although next steps have been given to show that they remain on our agenda and will be reviewed and monitored going forward.
