The planning service needs to ensure that individuals, communities, businesses and other stakeholders have access to the planning information and services they need, and can get involved in a way and at a time that suits them. Planning already has more internet hits than almost any other local or central government topic. E-planning is a crucial part of the planning modernisation agenda. Commitment to continuous service improvement is required to grasp the opportunities of new technology and help to increase the effectiveness of the planning system.
