Parking Standards Group minutes and action points: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

All minutes and action points from the Parking Standards Group for the last 2 years.

Response

We attach a copy of the minutes from a Parking Standards Group meeting which occurred on 18 June 2021: Annex A. We also attach a copy of notes from a separate meeting which occurred on 2 December 2021: Annex B. This was not a full meeting of the Parking Standards Group as it was attended by some local authorities and was arranged to discuss parking enforcement, specifically the Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE) application process, which does not directly relate to all members of the group.

Please note, any action points from these meetings are listed in the minutes/notes.

Section 38(1)(b)

An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
