Forms for use by planning authorities to respond to certain planning and environmental appeals, known as PARF.
The required form, as well as any necessary accompanying documents, reports on handling and suggested conditions, must be returned to the Planning and Environmental Appeals Division (DPEA) within 21 days of being notified of the appeal
Each form corresponds to a different set of sections within various acts and regulations. Read the required form thoroughly before completing for guidance on each section.
Planning authority appeal response form
The planning authority must send a notice to each interested party informing them of the appeal and providing them with the information specified in the regulations within 14 days after it receives notification of the appeal.
Make sure that your appeal response includes:
- a note of what the planning authority considers should be taken into account in determining the appeal, and by what procedure the authority thinks these should be examined
- a copy of the documents which were taken into account by the planning authority in reaching its decision
- where applicable, a copy of any report on the authority's handling of the planning application
- where applicable, the conditions which the planning authority considers should be imposed in the event that planning permission is granted

Historic Environment Scotland (HES) appeal response form for appeals concerning scheduled monuments
HES must send a notice to each interested party informing them of the appeal and providing them with the information specified in the regulations within 14 days after it receives notification of the appeal.
Make sure that your appeal response includes:
- a note of what HES considers should be taken into account in determining the appeal, and by what procedure they think these should be examined
- a copy of the documents which were taken into account by HES in reaching its decision
- where applicable, the conditions which HES considers should be imposed in the event that consent is granted

HES must send a notice to each interested party informing them of the appeal and providing them with the information specified in the regulations within 14 days after it receives notification of the appeal.

- a copy of the documents which were taken into account by HES in reaching its decision
