Protected Trust Deeds (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2024: equality impact assessment

The results of the equality impact assessment (EQIA) undertaken in respect of the Protected Trust Deeds (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2024.

The Scope of the EQIA

9. These Regulations bring forward stakeholder-led proposals to improve the operations and delivery of PTDs in Scotland. Throughout development of these policy changes, AiB has engaged with and listened to stakeholders, refining proposals to reflect their feedback. This included discussions with a range of stakeholder groups, including money advisers, insolvency practitioners and creditors through the wider review working groups.

10. Additionally further consultation took place with the members of the Protected Trust Deed Standing Committee, a group composed of members from the creditor, insolvency practitioner and debt advice sectors as well as recognised professional bodies, who provides information and guidance to AiB on the administration of trust deeds and helps identify any issues or areas of concern in the process.

11. No equality issues were identified, and no changes were made to the Regulations as a direct result of equality impact analysis.
