The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Neil Gray today announced the appointment of Sharon Morrow as a Member of the NHS Ayrshire and Arran Board.
Member
With a diverse background in healthcare, Sharon Morrow brings valuable expertise in regulation, compliance and leadership. An MBA graduate, and having owned dental practices, along with her experience as both a registered nurse and dental nurse, Sharon is deeply committed to promoting excellence in patient care and a compassionate organisational culture. She has a strong passion for fostering leadership development and creating environments that prioritise patient safety and quality care. Currently serving as a Non-Executive Board Member at Ayrshire College, Sharon brings a strong track record of governance, strategic oversight and understanding of healthcare operations and innovation to the Board.
Appointment
This appointment will be for 4 years and will run from 6 January 2025 to 5 January 2029.
This appointment is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.
Remuneration
This appointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £11,700 for a time commitment of 52 days per year.

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.

Background
NHS Ayrshire & Arran is responsible for meeting the health needs of around 400,000 people living in the area, and provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the population.
