Introduction

This statistical publication presents latest quarterly figures to end June 2023 on new housebuilding and Affordable Housing Supply, along with annual rates of new housebuilding and affordable housing supply per head of population, with comparisons to other UK countries.

Note that this latest version of the publication incorporates an improvement in which data on housing association new build starts, previously reported on through a proxy measure of approvals, is now presented from April 2018 onwards based on starts data, following an improvement in the quality of data recorded.
