1. Population estimates are as at mid-year from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) (http://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/statistics-and-data/statistics/statistics-by-theme/population/population-estimates/mid-year-population-estimates). NRS have announced discrepancies in the mid-year population estimates. See section 6.35 for more details.

2. The victim/complainer is the person who perceived the incident to be racist. The complainer may not necessarily be the person(s) at whom the racist incident was targeted. See Section 2.7 for more.
