Response

Concerning the data refresh for the R100 postcode checker, I can confirm that an update takes place on a 4-weekly cycle. The R100 Programme Team uses information they receive in the weeks beforehand, but please note this does not result in an automatic update for every premises – for example, there may be no change from the previous information held.

However, we do recognise the ongoing need to continually improve the R100 postcode checker and I can confirm that the R100 Programme Team is completing a revision of the approach used for the 4-weekly updates. The January 2023 update was held back for this reason, which may explain why your premises was displaying a 2022 date. On 23 February 2023 a further data update was carried out on the R100 postcode checker which shows that your property is now expected to be connected by June 2024.

While we aim to provide the most up-to-date position, scotlandsuperfast.com is the best view that the R100 Programme Team has of the available data. As a result, this picture is indicative but not definitive.

Like other large and complex infrastructure programmes, details may change from time to time through factors such as engineering and planning constraints as well as deployment by commercial broadband providers.

For clarity, the Openreach interactive map and postcode checker is not directly linked to our scotlandsuperfast.com site. Although they perform similar tasks, Openreach uses exchange level data to give an indicative timescale of their commercial build at exchange level via their online interactive map. The Openreach postcode checker, on the same website, provides more information into future build at premises level, but does not currently provide the more detailed R100 timescales available on scotlandsuperfast.com.

You can sign-up to receive email alerts on the Openreach website, which will keep individuals informed predominantly when their service is ready to order for commercial, funded voucher programmes and R100 contracted build.
