Environmental Health Officer (EHO) in Scotland

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold the information you require because the Scottish Government does not register or regulate Environmental Health Officers in Scotland.

The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) awards the qualification which allows a person to practice as an Environmental Health Officer in Scotland. Under the Royal Charter and Scheme of Continuing Professional Development, it awards Chartered Environmental Health Officer status to eligible members. The majority of Environmental Health Officers in Scotland are employed by local authorities.

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested. This extract [Annex A] comprises the last 3 communications from the Scottish Government to the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) prior to receipt of your request on 5th of June 2023.

Security Staff

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested because the Scottish Government does not register or regulate security staff.
