Renal Cancer Clinical Quality Performance Indicators: Engagement Document
This document is being circulated for comment and feedback in order to ensure wide
engagement with professional groups, health service staff, voluntary organisations, patients affected by renal cancer and the wider public.
10. Areas for Future Consideration
The Renal Cancer QPI Groups have not been able to identify sufficient evidence, or determine appropriate measurability specifications, to address all areas felt to be of key importance in the treatment of renal cancer, and therefore in improving the quality of care for patients affected by renal cancer.
The following areas for future consideration have been raised across the lifetime of the Renal Cancer QPIs:
- Minimally invasive treatments, e.g. RFA, cryotherapy
- Metastasectomy/Cytoreductive nephrectomy
- Palliative radiotherapy
- Management of brain metastases
