Increase in planted potato area compared with five year average

The total area of planted potatoes was 29,100 hectares in 2024 an increase of 4.1% compared with the five year average (28,000 hectares). Both seed and ware potatoes increased (5.5% and 2.9% respectively). Seed potato area in 2024 was 12,800 hectares and ware potato area was 16,300 hectares.
