Introduction
This publication provides final results from June Agricultural Census 2024 on land use, crop areas, livestock and the number of people working on agricultural holdings.
The June Agricultural Census is completed as at 1 June. The publication provides an overview of the results of the agricultural census and figures are rounded. Rounded figures are also shown in values labels on charts. Please visit the detailed tables to see the exact figures.
In general, the publication results for 2024 are compared with a 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 five-year average. A comparison with the five year average allows us to compare the current year to average trends in the farming sector over a recent time period.
Please note the June Agricultural Census did not take place in 2022 due to improvement work around the census. The estimated 2022 results are based on administrative data and results in adjacent years. For further information please see the methodology report.
Data tables are available to download under supporting documents.
