Information requested

  1. How many road accidents/deaths occurred in Fife last year?
  2. How many road death victims in the Fife region were maybe not wearing a seatbelt in the last year/over the last three potentially?
  3. Of these accidents, how many were potentially using their mobile phones?

Response

These are the number of collisions (accidents) that occurred in Fife local authority by their severity:

These are the number of casualties that occurred in Fife local authority by their severity:

To confirm, there were 8 deaths and 234 collisions (with 358 casualties of all severities) in Fife last year. Some collisions have more than one casualty.

There were no casualties (fatal or otherwise) that were known to not wear a seatbelt in the last three years in Fife according to Police Scotland records (where applicable).

There was one collision (in 2021) over last three years in Fife which had mobile phone use listed as a contributory factor.
