2. In 2015, a new set of rules came into force in Norway to regulate the collective responsibility for recapturing farmed fish that have escaped and ended up in rivers. On the basis of the new rules, OURO, an organisation tasked with removing escapee farmed fish from bodies of water, was formed in the same year. OURO is financed by the industry and involvement is compulsory for farmers.
