Acknowledgment letter

On behalf of The Loaningdale School Company Ltd, which operated as a List D school from January 1963 to April 1990 and following the sale of the school building and associated land in 1990, presently operates as a grant-making Trust. The Loaningdale School Company utilises its substantial financial resources to positively impact the lives of young individuals in the Clydesdale area of South Lanarkshire. Whether through direct grants, support for other organisations, or assistance to former pupils, the charity plays a vital role in promoting the community's welfare.

The present trustees of The Loaningdale School Company Ltd, none of whom had any involvement with the List D school, deeply regret the pain and suffering caused by abuse which occurred within the institution. We acknowledge the profound impact this has had on the lives of survivors and their families. The present trustees apologise unreservedly for the failures of the organisation in the past that allowed such abuse to occur. We are committed to providing the necessary redress to any young person who was abused while in the care of the organisation.
