Easy read version of the consultation on proposals for Scottish Carer’s Assistance, a new Scottish benefit which will replace Carer’s Allowance, and be delivered by Social Security Scotland.
Aims for Scottish Carer's Assistance
We have worked with carers and organisations to create aims for the new benefit.
These are:
Aim 1: Scottish Carer's Assistance provides income for unpaid carers. This is because of their important role and its impact on their lives. It meets the different needs of different carers.
Aim 2: Scottish Carer's Assistance supports carers to have opportunities outside of caring.
Aim 3: Scottish Carer's Assistance is designed to make sure carers have a good experience of the social security system. It helps carers get support.
