6. Conclusion

The above responses help give an assessment of the Scottish Government’s progress on adapting to the locked-in impacts of climate change. As the Scottish Climate Change Adaptation Programme 2019-2024 reaches the end of its lifespan, we recognise the notable progress made across all sectors, and by our various stakeholders. However, as we look to the future, the Scottish Government acknowledges gaps remain and more action will need to be taken to address the impacts of climate change. We welcome the Climate Change Committee's recommendations for increased adaptation action in Scotland, and the opportunity to take these and the consultation findings under consideration for the upcoming Scottish National Adaptation Plan 3 2024-2029.
