Scottish Crown Estate marine revenue allocations: 2019-20

New arrangements to ensure that coastal communities benefit from the net revenue generated by the Scottish Crown Estate marine assets out to 12 nautical miles following the recent devolution of the management of the assets.


This is the first year under the new arrangements to ensure that coastal communities benefit from the net revenue generated by the Scottish Crown Estate marine assets out to 12 nautical miles following the recent devolution of the management of the assets. 

Scottish Ministers have agreed that annual allocations should be distributed to local areas in arrears following the finalisation of the annual accounts for the Scottish Crown Estate and the allocation for 2019-2020 relates to the net revenue generated in 2017-2018.

Note:

1.The total available for distribution in 2019-2020 is £7,196,492 and Coastal Communities Fund spend in 2019-2020 is £303,508.

2.The Settlement and Distribution Group agreed the principle that all eligible local authorities should receive a de minimis allocation of no less than £1,000 under the interim formula-based mechanism.  All eligible local authorities should receive at least £1,000, with the other allocations reduced pro rata (once every local authority has had £1,000 allocated).
