Information and documentation relating to the provision of data for the annual Achievement of Curriculum for Excellence levels data collection.
Survey Background
English Medium Education - Primary and Secondary
Achievement of Curriculum for Excellence will be recorded and collected at individual pupil level, for all pupils in the stages of P1, P4, P7, and S3, who are based on the roll of the school, and for all pupils based in standalone school/units.
Each of the following will be collected:
- Numeracy
- Literacy - Reading (English)
- Literacy - Writing (English)
- Literacy - Listening and Talking (English)
Gaelic Medium Education - Primary
The data collected will differ depending on the stage of the child. Numeracy for Primary 1 pupils being taught in Gaelic Medium will not be collected. Therefore only the following will be collected:
- Literacy - Reading (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Writing (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Listening and Talking (Gàidhlig)
For Primary 4 pupils being taught in Gaelic Medium the following data will be collected:
- Literacy - Reading (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Writing (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Listening and Talking (Gàidhlig)
- Numeracy
For Primary 7 pupils being taught in Gaelic Medium, both English and Gaelic data regarding literacy and numeracy will be collected:
- Literacy - Reading (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Writing (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Listening and Talking (Gàidhlig)
- Numeracy
- Literacy - Reading (English)
- Literacy - Writing (English)
- Literacy - Listening and Talking (English)
Gaelic Medium Education - Secondary (S3)
The data collected for secondary pupils being taught in Gaelic Medium is the same as that for pupils in Primary 7 being taught Gaelic Medium:
- Literacy - Reading (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Writing (Gàidhlig)
- Literacy - Listening and Talking (Gàidhlig)
- Numeracy
- Literacy - Reading (English)
- Literacy - Writing (English)
- Literacy - Listening and Talking (English)
Guidance notes can be found in Section 5 of the Data Specification and Guidance notes (see link below).
All Local Authority primary, secondary and special schools, together with all grant-aided schools are included.
Data reported will be the most recent CfE level achieved (including up to 4th level)
