Background
The data collected will provide us with important information on the school estate in Scotland. This information will be used at both national and local level to inform targets, inform spending decisions, support monitoring and evaluation of progress over time, and support assessments of value for money. We value and appreciate the co-operation of local authorities in this exercise.
This exercise is designed to capture data at a fairly high level to provide a snapshot picture of the school estate. It is intended that local authorities should provide the best information currently available to them. If the exact information is not currently available, they should provide the best estimate available to them, explaining the source and any assumptions.
