11 Public Appointments

11.1 A Public Appointment is an appointment to the board of any of the public bodies across Scotland - either as a member, or as the chair⁸⁴. The board's role is to provide leadership, direction and guidance, it is not involved in the day-to-day running of the public body.

11.2 No evidence of pregnancy- or maternity-related discrimination in relation to public appointments was identified in the course of this short-run review.
