Climate Change Plan: third report on proposals and policies 2018-2032 (RPP3) - summary
Overview of our Climate Change Plan 2018-2032, setting out how we will continue to drive down emissions over the period to 2032.
1. Our progress so far
Scotland is a world leader in tackling climate change and Scotland’s transition to a more prosperous, low carbon society is already well underway.
In 2015, Scotland had reduced its emissions by 41% from the 1990 baseline[2], and in 2017 Scotland generated 68.1% of its electricity requirements from renewables[3]. Scotland’s success in decarbonising electricity paves the way for transformational change across all sectors of the economy and society, particularly as electricity will be increasingly important as a power source for heat and transport.
