Information on the Scottish Social Housing Tender Price Index (SSHTPI) and quarterly report for March 2024.
Background
- tender prices for social housing fell 6.7% in 3Q 2023 to 2024 compared with the previous quarter and declined by 6.0% compared with 3Q 2022 to 2023
- underlying construction costs of labour, materials, and plant, as measured by the BCIS General Building Cost Index, rose 0.2% quarter-on-quarter in 3Q 2023 to 2024 and by 2.7% compared with the same quarter a year earlier
- over the year to 3Q 2023 to 2024 underlying inflation, as measured by the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), rose by 3.9%
