Scottish Teachers' Pensions Scheme (STPS) withdrawals: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

  1. A list of all independent schools that have withdrawn from Scottish Teachers' Pensions Scheme (STPS) to the present date or date when FOI is actioned.
  2. A list of any new independent schools who have intentions to withdraw from the STPS to the present date or date when FOI actioned.
  3. A list of all those independent schools that remain within the STPS to the present date or date when FOI actioned.

Response

I enclose a copy of the information you requested, below and in the attached list.

  1. The following independent schools have left the Scottish Teachers’ Pension Scheme/Scottish Teachers’ Superannuation Scheme since the start of 2020 up to 24th March 2022. As a time period was not stated in the request we have provided recent leavers, however if you wish for a more extensive time period, please let us know.
  • Drumduan School (January 2020)
  • Craigholme School (October 2020)
  • Balnacraig School (November 2021)
  1. No other independent schools have given notice of their intention to leave the Scottish Teachers Pension Scheme/Scottish Teachers’ Superannuation Scheme
  2. See attached list.
