Scottish Welfare Fund Statistics: annual update 2023-24

The annual update of Scottish Welfare Fund Statistics for 2023-24. This includes annual statistics on Community Care Grants and Crisis grants from 2013, as well as quarterly breakdowns from 2018.

The Scottish Welfare Fund comprises Community Care Grants, which help people to live independently, and Crisis Grants, which provide a safety net in a disaster or emergency.

This publication provides information on the Scottish Welfare Fund for the financial year of 2023-24. It also contains information from previous financial years dating back to 1 April 2013, when the scheme began. This edition concentrates on the period from 2018-19 onwards.

The publication includes monthly management information (informal returns) from January 2023 to May 2024, broken down by local authority. These provide comparison with the Official Statistics, and also allow the most recent trends in data to be seen, which won’t otherwise be covered by the official statistics until the next quarterly update.

A supplementary spreadsheet containing 73 tables and 16 charts has also been published. Electronic versions of this document and accompanying tables and charts are available at the Scottish Government SWF web page.
