Serious Organised Crime Taskforce: progress report 2023

This progress report details some of the advances made by the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and its partners.

The Serious Organised Crime Taskforce

The SOC Taskforce is chaired by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, and drives activity across the four strands. A range of public, private and third sector organisations are represented on the SOC Taskforce and membership can be supplemented with individuals to take account of key priorities, where appropriate.

Following publication of the refreshed SOC Strategy in February 2022, a Steering Group was set up comprising of individuals from a number of key organisations including Police Scotland, Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, local authorities, and the third sector to analyse the available data and make recommendations to the SOC Taskforce about emerging priorities.

The Steering Group plays a pivotal role in coordinating the work of the SOC Taskforce and in strengthening links and communication both at a tactical level with theme leads and between the taskforce itself and other partners.
