Single Building Assessment Specification Task and Finish Group: final output and recommendations - March 2024
Following the first Single Building Assessment (SBA) Task and Finish Group, a successor group was established. This March 2024 report sets out the issues the successor group discussed, where resolution was agreed, and recommendations for progress and next steps.
Conclusion
The successor SBA Specification Task and Finish Group has successfully fulfilled its remit.
The Group enabled various organisations and Developers from the sector to input and inform the SBA specification, process and wider cladding remediation programme.
The Group met the objectives to discuss outstanding issues and seek resolution where possible. Resolution has been found for several issues including providing clarity on the SBA specification timeline and process and various queries relating to Building Standards.
Resolution has not yet been agreed on several issues which relate to the developer remediation contract, Cladding Remediation Bill or cladding assurance register. The Group agreed that these issues sit outside of the scope of the Group and would benefit from continued discussion within the Developer Contract Negotiation Group, and as such the issues will be passed to that Group.
The Group worked collaboratively to address and explore complex issues as they relate to the SBA specification and wider cladding remediation programme.
