The SRS process:

  • integrates evidence of formal learning (i.e., qualifications) and non‑formal/informal learning and experience
  • asks participants to identify, describe and discuss in detail the skills they used in their work experience (similar to employment interviews)
  • benchmarks the skills against levels in the Scottish National Qualifications Framework - the SCQF
  • uses SCQF Level Descriptors contextualised for employers, so participants and employers know what the levels mean
