Annex B: Topic Guide Questions for the Interviews

Introduction - about the participant's role in the pilot

  • Briefly, which organisation do you work with?
  • What has been your role in the pilot? How would you describe that?
  • How long have you been involved in the pilot?

Opening question

  • Overall, how has the pilot been for you?

Theme 1: characteristics of participants

From your experiences of the Pilot, I am interested in hearing any reflections or insights you have may have on:

a. The number of participants who have potentially engaged with the pilot;

b. Their backgrounds and demographic characteristics – age group, sex;

c. The country of origin of those participating in the pilot; and

d. Their sector / area of skills / expertise.

Theme 2: what participants did / experienced as part of the pilot

I would now like to move on to explore our second theme.

  • Do you have any insights or observations on the courses that participants studied and / or the type of work / sector they engaged with?

Theme 3: the destination of participants

  • From what you have observed and seen in the delivery of the pilot, do you have any information or observations on the destinations of participants?
  • Do you have any information or general observations on whether participants secured education or employment?

Theme 4: employer engagement with the pilot

  • Do you have any information or insights on the number and / or types of employers engaging with the pilot?
  • Any information on the sectors they work in?

Theme 5: general lessons learned

  • In your view, what do you feel have been the strengths of the pilot?
  • What, if anything, do you feel could have been done differently?
  • In your view, how would this have strengthened the pilot even further?
  • Do you have any thoughts on whether this type of activity could be delivered in any other way, and if so, what might that be?
  • How may that work? What may that look like?
  • Overall and in summary, what do you feel from your experience, is the key learning from the pilot?
