  1. Please tell me how much money was spent by the Scottish Government on promoting the change in law which meant all homes had have interlinked smoke and fire alarms by 1st February 2021, before it was delayed in December 2020, broken down by type of marketing tool (e.g door to door leaflet, television ad, promoted posts on social media).
  2. Please tell me how much money was spent by the Scottish Government on promoting the change in law which meant all homes had have interlinked smoke and fire alarms by 1st February 2022, broken down by type of marketing tool (e.g door to door leaflet, television ad, promoted posts on social media).

Response

  1. There was extensive stakeholder engagement in 2020-21 which was delivered at no cost. There was no marketing spend allocated to the promotion of interlinked smoke and fire alarms before it was delayed in December 2020.
  2. The spend on the public information campaign to promote the change in law relating to the interlinked smoke and fire alarms by 1 February 2022 broken down by type of marketing tool (e.g door to door leaflet, television ad, promoted posts on social media) is as follows:
