Cross Justice Working Group on Race Data and Evidence: Collecting and using staff equality data in the justice sector

Information for justice organisations on collecting staff equality data.

The questions we ask

All justice organisations should use the same harmonised questions when collecting equality data. The use of standardised questions allows for data to be comparable both across organisations and the wider context. Data collected by organisations may be benchmarked against data from large scale surveys if the same question is used.

The Scottish Government has published guidance notes on the recommended questions to ask when collecting equality data.
