1. Figures for recalls in 2008-09 were not published previously due to technical difficulties in recording the outcome of recall procedures in certain cases. The dataset has now been revised to address these issues and the revised figures for 2007-08 are about 10% lower those published previously.

2. Re-admissions typically involve a voluntary return to custody.
