Information requested

1. The total amount spent on compensation payments in the financial year 2022-23?

2. The total spent on rectifying errors in the financial year 2022-23?

Response

1. Compensation Payments £27,500

2. Costs of rectifying errors £390,827.

Please note that these figures recorded include some payments made in the 2023-24 financial year, as they are not able to be split.

The amounts are derived from an ex-gratia Payment Scheme regarding the ‘long residence’ conditions within student support legislation.

This figure represents a combination of compensation payments, tuition fee support as well as grants to cover living cost support.
