Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
Please provide the following information:
Total Scottish Government spending on each of the following subscription services, broken down by year (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022):
Netflix, Sky, Disney+, NOW TV, ITVx, Britbox, Apple TV, Spotify.
Please also specify the nature of these subscriptions, are they for ministers, civil servants? Are they for use in the Scottish Parliament building only, or are they for personal use at home? Or both?

The answer to your question is below.
There are 2 sets of Scottish Government data:
- Scottish hub data – this is procurement spend raised with SG corporate purchasing system. The most available data is only published to March 22 (21/22 year)
- Electronic Purchasing Card (ePC) data – ePC data is only published for 3 years from the date of download. In this instance data is from December 16th 2019.
Hub data
Information held on the Scottish Procurement Information Hub is based on the accounts payable data from participating public sector bodies.
The Scottish Procurement Information Hub (The ‘Hub’ also referred to as the ‘Observatory’) is an online tool that allows over 100 Scottish Public Sector bodies the means to examine spend by analysing Accounts Payable data.
