Scotland's results from the UK Innovation Survey 2023, covering the three-year period from 2020 to 2022


Innovation Activity by Sector

Industrial sector is defined by the UK Standard Industrial Classification 2007 (SIC 2007).

Figure 5: Businesses in Scotland in the ‘Scientific Research and Development’ sector were most likely to be innovation active in 2020-2022 (67.4%). Businesses in the ‘Accommodation and Food Services’ sector were least likely (17.8%).
