UK innovation survey 2023 – results for Scotland

Scotland's results from the UK Innovation Survey 2023, covering the three-year period from 2020 to 2022


Innovation Activity by Size

Businesses have been grouped into size categories based on their number of employees.

Figure 3: In both Scotland and the UK, small (10-49 employees) businesses were least likely to be innovation active in 2020-2022 (30.1% Scotland, 34.4% UK). Businesses in Scotland with 100-249 employees were most likely to be innovation active (47.0%) whereas in the UK it’s businesses with 250+ employees (49.5%).
