Children in education

Scottish Government has published data on the numbers of Ukrainian Displaced Children enrolled in Scottish schools. Following a Scottish Government survey of local authorities, data indicates that as at 31 March 2023, 3,124 Ukrainian children were enrolled in primary and secondary schools across Scotland. This was an overall decrease of 54 children since the previous survey on 24 February. Since first reported in September 2022, the number of Ukrainian children enrolled in schools (both primary and secondary combined) were on an increasing trend until January, followed by decreases in February and March. The same trend is seen in the number of Ukrainian children enrolled in secondary schools; however, the number of Ukrainian children enrolled in primary schools decreased for the first time in March.
