Welcome accommodation
The estimated number of displaced people from Ukraine in welcome accommodation, as well as the number of hotel rooms and ship cabins occupied, are on an overall decreasing trend since January (figure 1). As reported by welcome accommodation teams across Scotland on 11 April, there were around 2,025 hotel rooms and 650 ship cabins on the M/S Victoria occupied by displaced people from Ukraine in welcome accommodation in Scotland. This is a decrease from around 2,150 hotel rooms and around 1,205 ship cabins occupied as reported on 31 January 2023, when both ships were operational. The contract for the M/S Ambition ended on 31 March 2023 and all guests disembarked by the end of the M/S Ambition contract. A timeseries of the number of guests and occupied cabins or hotel rooms in welcome accommodation each week since 31 January 2023 can be found in the accompanying set of tables.

By 11 April around 875 guests had disembarked the M/S Victoria since 26 July 2022 and an estimated 1,490 guests had disembarked the M/S Ambition while it was operational between 14 September 2022 and 31 March 2023. Although the M/S Ambition became operational on 14 September 2022, the first disembarkation took place early on 17 September 2022. All guests disembarked by the end of the M/S Ambition contract.
