Waiting times to receive a decision on Adult Disability Payment application: FOI release

Information requested

Request for information 1: The number of claimants waiting longer than 10 weeks to receive a decision on Adult Disability Payment application since the online application process was opened to all in Scotland on 29 August 2022.

Request for information 2: The timescale from applications being received to actually being reviewed by a case manager (please note not interested in when allocated to a case manager, when actually first reviewed).

Processing times for Adult Disability Payment are available as part of our published statistics. The most recent publication covers up to 31 October 2022 and is available here:

Processing times are detailed in Table 9 of “Adult Disability Payment Tables December 2022”. For the purposes of this request we have interpreted a week as a working week, or five working days. From 29 August 2022 to 16 November 2022, there were 2,208 applications with processing time of more than 10 working weeks (or 50 working days). This figure is calculated using a data extract which includes the number of part two applications received between Adult Disability Payment national launch on 29 August 2022 and 16 November 2022, the date your request was received.

People who are entitled to Adult Disability Payment will be paid from the day they applied.
